Rehearsal and Concert Schedule
The band lesson schedule is one of the most important pieces of information for you and your child to know when it comes to learning their instrument of choice. Students are expected to know their lesson schedule. The schedule will be created at the beginning of the school year when the majority of band sign-ups have been turned into Mr. D'Angelo. Lessons are scheduled throughout the school day and your child is pulled out of class for 40 minutes one day a week along with other students registered for that instrument. They meet with Mr. D'Angelo in a small group and he teaches them how to play and care for their instrument. Mr. D'Angelo will try to make the schedule in a way that no students are pulled out of their classroom during a Mathematics or Literature/ Reading and Writing instruction block. It is very important to Mr. D'Angelo that ALL band students remain in good academic standings with their classroom teacher and are responsible and dedicated to their education. Every student is expected to find out and complete any classwork or notes that they missed while they were at their lesson when they return back to their classroom. Mr. D'Angelo and the fourth and fifth grade classroom teachers work closely together to establish a strong and effective learning environment for the students.
